About us

A like minded group of ukulele players who meet every other Tuesday in

Waverton, Chester.

The group was formed about 10 years ago.

Chester ukes is constantly improving and developing by playing a variety of songs from Lady GaGa and U2, to some old classic favourites.

Each year we try and change the set list, trying out new songs, songs that you would not nescessarily associate with the ukulele.

Previous events we have performed at include..

The Summer Strum ukulele festival

The Chester Storyhouse

Chester Market Hall

 The Chester beer festival

 The Civic Hall

Hospice of the Good Shepherd

Chester Grosvenor Hotel

We have played at weddings, in churches, plus numerous charity events around the area. We are proud to support 'The Guide Dogs for the Blind' which is our chosen charity for 2023/2024

We can provide all our own PA gear should it be required.

A typical rehearsal evening for Chester ukes will start at 7pm, playing for about an hour before we break for a cuppa, a chat and a catch up, the evening will wrap up around 9pm.

A ukulele newsletter gets published every month, which keeps everyone up to date. It includes various features and sections providing tips and hints on playing and improving.

We have one clear goal, to improve our playing ability and performances and to have a bit of fun in the process.
